1st day: Seoul Upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, transfer to hotel. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at leisure. 2nd day: Seoul Morning city tour to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was served as the main imperial residence of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), the last dynasty of Korea; National Folk Museum introducing the cultural and historical wealth of Korea; Jogyesa Temple, the headquarters of the Jogyejong Sect, the main sect of Korean Buddhism; Insadong Antique Alley, the center of Korean fine art and antique; Seoul World Cup Stadium where the opening ceremony of 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan was held; and enjoy a fantastic cruise tour of Han River which runs through the heart of Seoul.

4th day: Seoul / Jeonju
Leave Seoul for Jeonju which is famous for the manufacture of Hanji, Korea¡¯s traditional paper. Afternoon visit Hansol Paper Museum, which shows the development of paper in Korea; Gyeonggijeon Shrine which preserves the portrait of King Taejo, the founder of Joseon Kingdom; Jeonju Traditional Cultural Center where you can take the opportunity of experiencing the lifestyel of ancient Korea. 5th day: Jeonju / Damyang / Gwangju This morning travel to Baekyangsa Temple which is especially scenic in the fall with its autumn foliage. In the afternoon, you will visit Damyang Bamboo Museum, the only museum of its kind in the world exhibits a total of 1,150 antique and modern works of bambooware from the Damyang area, as well as from foreign countries; Soswaewon Garden, representing the style of mid Joseon Dynasty garden is famous for the fantastic bamboo forest in the entrance of this garden.
6th day: Gwangju / Daegu En route to Daegu, we will stop at Haeinsa Temple which is famous for housing a collection of more than 80,000 wooden printing blocks which compose the Tripitaka Koreana, the most complete collection of the Buddhist canon to be found in the East Asia. Afternoon visit to Daegu Oriental Medicine Market, where as 300 oriental medical clinics, herbal medicinal shops, and herb processing facilities are located.

7th day: Daegu / Gyeongju This morning transfer to Gyeongju, designated by UNESCO as one of the world¡¯s ten most historically significant sites and is often called a ¡°museum without walls¡± because of the numerous historical buildings and treasures to be found there. Afternoon tour of Gyeongju includes Gyeongju National Museum displaying the 23 ton Emille Bell cast in AD771 and many thousand priceless treasures; Tumuli Park, a collection of royal Silla tombs; Cheomseongdae Astronomical Observatory, known as the world¡¯s oldest astronomical observatory; Anapji Pond where the Silla royal family relaxed and enjoyed themselves.
8th day: Gyeongju / Andong This morning continue on to visit Bulguksa Temple, built during the glorious period of Silla Kingdom. The architectural design of the temple is one of constrained dignity and peaceful harmony and yet the temple still remains one of the most remarkable achievements of the ancient Far East; Seokguram Grotto, one of the Asia's finest Buddhist shrines surrounded by Bodhisattva, disciples, devas and guardian king; Gyeongju Folk Artcraft Village in which the exhibition and studios displays of manufacturing process of metal, ceramics, woodworks, broidery, etc and you will also purchase a variety of souvenirs at a resonable price. In the afternoon, transfer to Andong, one of the last living vestige of old Korea and has become more popular with the visit by England's Queen Elizabeth II in 1999.
9th day: Andong / Seoul Today's tour of Andong includes Hahoe Folk Village where about 130 traditional houses large and small from noblility to commoners, have been well preserved by the same families for generations; Hahoe Mask Museum which displays the various kinds of traditional masks produced here. This village is known for a special form of mask drama, called Hahoe Byeolsinggut; Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy, taking you into the world of Confucianism, Korean's spiritual home. Transfer to Seoul.

10th day: Seoul Whole day tour of Seoul vicinity includes Icheon Ceramics Village, an important place to represent the Korean ceramic culture which has brilliantly flourished for about one thousand years. In this village, about 80 ceramic workshops are clustered, so visitors have the chance to see the process pottery making in the traditional kilns; Haegang Ceramic Museum, Korea's only museum devoted entirely to the ceramics arts; Suwon Hwaseong Fortress enlisted to World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, which is a brilliant architecture of the Joeseon Dyansty built in 18th century.
11th day: Seoul Today's tour includes Jongmyo Royal Ancestral Shrine, which enshrines spirit tablets of Joseon kings and their queens; Deoksugung Palace and its Royal Museum, preserving sophiscated royal court articles of the Joseon Dynasty; Namdaemun Market, located in downtown boasts the very best selection of merchandise in the nation. It is the nation's wholesale center and virtually anything you want can be found here; Korean Folk Village, a living museum that recreates the Korean lifestyle of several centuries ago.
12th day: Seoul This morning visit private Korean Home and get the first-hand experience of Korean culture including making Kimchi, the most representative side dish served at every Korean meal; traditional tea ceremony, enjoying soul-enriching tea; trying on 'Hanbok', the traditional Korean costume; learning to play the traditional musical instrument. In the afternoon visit Myeongdong Cathedral which is the center of Korean Catholicism; and enjoy shopping at Myeongdong and Namdaemun Market, both of which are the representative shopping areas in Seoul.
13th day: Seoul Free at leisure until the time of departure. Transfer to Incheon International Airport. |
